Girls For Sail Verdict

Glorious of sun, sea, sailing and relaxation. Throw in the opportunity to learn a new sport that will enable you to feel confident on the water, add a cocktail or two and you have a perfect holiday. It beats sailing in the rain!

What the Girls Had to Say

"I had a fantastic time, most memorable and intend to book next year as soon as 2014 is on the calendar!!" Tanya 2013

Starts: 10am at  Nanny Cay Marina, Nanny Cay, British Virgin Islands

Finishes: 16:30 Day 9 at Antigua English Harbor

About The Event

Stunning sunshine, white beaches, brilliant blue seas and the time to sit back and take it in. This adventure enables all standard of sailor the opportunity to learn/improve their skills whilst taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Caribbean season. The islands we explore are all totally different in terms of culture, terrain, entertainment, even language!

Enjoy this journey through the islands, and even get the chance to swim in the ocean- you never know our dolphin friends may pop up to say hi!

The passages are suited to undertaking the Coastal Skipper Course Completion certificate. Should you wish to undertake this trip then the details can be found here

Either way, the passage is a downwind passage and should be very nice even though there are a good few miles to cover. There will be one  long passage - the first one leaving BVI where we may get up very early to get to one of the nearest Islands SE of the BVI . The plan will be to do the majority of the miles on these first 2 legs and then we can slow the pace down a little.

Once we have made the long passages, we will be able to sit back, relax and maybe enjoy a cool cocktail or 2. Snorkel, swim and take full advantage of the many beautiful bays and anchorages on the islands we visit.

There are an average of 380 miles to sail which averages 40 miles a day or approximately 5-6 hours sailing each day - less if we do 2 longer days

About  British Virgin Islands

The BVIs are the perfect destination, whether you're after romance, rejuvenation or adventure. A beautiful, natural landscape of gorgeous palm-fringed beaches, miles of unspoiled rainforest, are sure to indulge every taste. Natural waterfalls, breath-taking views, friendly locals and authentic culture impress even the most well-travelled of individuals and make for a holiday with lasting memories.

Stunning Antigua - where the rich and famous gather for some yacht worshipping. We have seen and met kings here - keep your eyes peeled for Beyonce and other stars on your arrival amongst the many mega yachts moored here! It's a very laid back island, flat with some great dining, wonderful beaches and almost perfect sailing conditions. The breeze is up most days coupled with great sunshine. There are lots of places to visit - although on our adventurous  week - there may not be a huge amount of time to do anything other than the itinerary.

About Antigua

This arid, volcanic rock of just eight square miles is home to an eclectic mix of iguanas, night-blooming cactus, and fabulous beaches as well as luxury yachts, designer boutiques, and celebrities…

Peopled primarily by descendents of the original French settlers and transplanted Europeans, this is an island with a strong, independent personality. Through the vagaries of its history it became a duty-free port and more recently liberated itself from the administrative yoke of Guadeloupe. It is certainly the most unusual of the French West Indies islands.
