About the event

Join us for the 50th anniversary of Antigua Sailing Week!

Not the oldest, but considered the ultimate in Caribbean regattas, Antigua Sailing Week is top of most sailors' bucket lists.

Well-organised racing for over 100 boats from more than 20 countries on big, rolling waves, against the background of English Harbour and Shirley Heights keeps our girls coming back year after year. Courses are varied daily, some with long legs, others shorter and more tactical, setting the fleet on beats close to the cliffs.

Nine glorious days of sun, sea, parties and relaxation combined with a challenging experience that just isn't available in a holiday brochure. You don't have to be adventurous to enjoy this holiday - but you are guaranteed to look back and say "wow, that was an adventure!" Don't be put off if you've never sailed or raced before!e6w7vW44LDs

Our plan is to spend the first part of the holiday race training/cruising (during the awesome classic yacht regatta!), followed by 5 days of racing. It makes for a great, fun event - the perfect combination of racing, partying and relaxing! It's so chilled too! A cocktail a day keeps the stresses away!! Come and find out for yourself why Antiguans are always smiling!

This will be our 17th time taking part in Antigua Sailing Week and we'll be looking to add even more silverware to our trophy cabinet!  We did fantastically well in 2016 - come join us in 2017 and help us to do even better!!

Other Activities

The strong wind sailing is so exhilarating that crews come back exhausted at the end of each day's racing - but that doesn't stop them partying late into the night in the bars and nightclubs around Nelson's dockyard! Our ladies always come back with great stories of epic evenings spent dancing on the lawns of Georgian buildings to fantastic reggae and rock bands - and the views from the infamous Shirley Heights really do have to be seen to be believed!

Details of the yacht

We mostly coach on yachts of between 37 and 41ft. Our yachts have been specifically chosen as they are easy to handle, great for learning! There is no denying us girls sometimes don't have the physical strength of the boys but with our technical ability and a well-chosen yacht we can do just as well. You will usually find yourself aboard an Élan 37, Jeanneau 37 or a Beneteau 40.7. All of your time will be spent living as crew-mates on your yacht.  Most of the yachts are 9/10 berth yachts with 3 cabins and a saloon so the boats will normally have 2 persons in each cabin i.e. 6 - this is always the case for an RYA course, MAX 6 persons on-board. On some events e.g. races we use the saloon which can sleep an additional 2-4 persons.

This yacht will be a non spinnaker boat
